French Interior Design Holiday Homes

French Interior Design Holiday Homes

I absolutely adore choosing holiday homes packed full of stunning and stylish interiors. For me, it’s a chance to sample new looks, innovative designs and creative decors. Sometimes they’re looks that I wouldn’t put in my own home, but it’s a true chance to try something new and get a feel for the colours, the furniture and the accessories.

French interiors are some that hold a special place for me. The decadence, the opulence and the grandeur are features that attract me every time, even though it’s not a look I think I could live with day after day. For a holiday home though it’s perfect. Is the french look something that appeals to you?

Check out these incredible villas in France – could you spend your holiday in homes like these?

This first one is on the Cote D’Azur and the use of muted shades and soft patterns allow the beauty of the stonework to shine through. It’s not devoid of character though with some quirky pieces and homely touches too.

Chateau Anais in the Loire Valley below (oh I’ve not visited since I was a teenager) has all the hallmarks of a grand, stately yet homely abode, one that shouts style and sophistication. It has me imagining who may have lived here, and if the walls could talk, what would they say?

Finally, this last one, Chateau de Cource in Normandy is packed full of wood mouldings, patterns and light that streams through the property. I absolutely adore the ‘over the top’ glamour and grandeur of this interior, although I’m not sure I’d let the children loose on this one, maybe it’s more suitable for a grown ups only time.

Whatever your style, it’s always possible to appreciate others, and to spend a few days or weeks in surroundings like these, opens your eyes to the possibilities when it comes to decorating your own home. Immersing yourself in great design, no matter if it’s your taste or not, is a great way to widen your horizons and improve your creativity when it comes to choosing your own decor. You just have to be open to the idea.

If you take nothing else away from looking at these stunning holiday villas, do embrace the extravagance and willingness to be extrovert in design choices. Trying something new and being more carefree in my decor has really helped me in the last year or so, so I hope it helps you too.
