Easy ways to inject some Greenery Pantone Colour of the Year 2017
The Pantone Colour of the Year for 2017 is greenery, what do you think?

It’s a big nod the environment. Bringing greenery into our home will perhaps remind us of the importance of looking after nature, and in a time when we are driven deeper and deeper into technology, of being in the wild ourselves too. From that point of view I love it.

Green is the most calming colour you can have in your home too, yet we often don’t embrace it. We underestimate it’s powers, perhaps it is time to let a little green back into our homes?

On the flip side, it is quite a bold and almost lime green, not an easy shade for everyone. However, it does work brilliantly as a pop of colour or a means to lift more subtle shades, so today I have pulled out some items that allow the greenery in, without taking over completely. The green sheep is a bit of a red herring, if that isn’t mixing too many metaphors, although I am sure someone out there needs a green sheep in their life!

How to use greenery in your home

Greenery for nature lovers

Greenery goes well with other greens, as you can see the plants in the picture above really stand out when placed near the green bar stool. Mixed with other greens it is an easy look to live with if your tastes are for nature’s hues – it lifts other greens, just like in nature. The greenery cushions above mixed with other botanical, jungle prints would make a lovely sofa oasis.

If you favour a calm, natural look, greenery is still a colour to play with. It mixes well with blues who put it in its place a little while greenery really brightens blues and natural woods. In the picture above it stops the scene becoming too wishy washy, without taking over, don’t you think?

Greenery for modern interior lovers

As a bold hue greenery is also perfect for modernists who love colour, it looks brilliantly tropical with hot pinks and citrusy yellow.

Greenery for fun lovers

If you just fancy playing with some pops of colour then the kitchen is a fun place to add this bold colour. There seem to be lots of greenery coloured chairs about. Or how about a green kettle, lights or wall clock for a change of scene?

What do you think about the colour of the year? Will you be adding greenery in your home?
