I love my bedroom.
Our house is a whirl of primary colours, noisy kids, food, felt tips, books, shoes, toys, coats and bags. It is often messy and usually cluttered.
Our bedroom is our sanctuary and completely different to the rest of our child-centric house.
It is blue and white and peaceful and calm. At the end of each day I spend a short while reading there before I sleep and it completely relaxes me.
I need precious time to read otherwise the events of the day and plans for tomorrow whizz around my head and stop me sleeping.
A lovely low light helps me wind down but the beige lamp I had before really did not go with our room and was very old fashioned. I am just delighted with this chrome bankers lamp from Lighting Majestic.
This chrome table lamp comes with the white glass shade (or you could pick green!) and is such an iconic style. It is such a classic but still manages to look both sleek and contemporary. I think it fits just perfectly into our little oasis of calm amidst the hullabaloo of our lives.

When I (finally) get the writing shed of my dreams I may move it out there to sit on my rustic wooden desk, perched by a big open window surrounded by wild roses (you have to have a dream!)
